Ron Hughes’ 1999 SS Camaro:
Our goals for this car were to make a reliable mid 9-second street car and be able retain the power convertible top and friendly drivability.
This Camaro drove to the race track in early November and clicked off a 9.90 ET @ 141 MPH, and then drove home! That’s quite an accomplishment for a manual transmission, hydraulic-cammed street car! Click Here for the Video of Tim Reed's 9 second pass.
The transformation from a “Dyno Queen” to a track monster was made possible with some additions from V&P Racing, including Liberty faceplated T56, custom anti-roll bar, and chassis mount torque arm. Motivated by a C5R blocked 427 with a V&P Racing tuned, direct port nitrous system, this hot Camaro is making just under 700 RWHP.
